Yes it is bit addictive, but once you start getting to know people, then you want to keep updated and it's nice to try help people too.
even tho I don't know much yet about bankruptcy, there are other things you can try help with. He doesn't "get it" cos he hasn't been on here. And it's me wanting to go BR not him so I will get advice here as he knows nothing about it!

Bless him!:D It's good to keep up with people and see how they're doing. Sorry if you've already posted this somewhere, but have you got a date yet? OH (OhDear!) has just said he thinks it's 1st December. Is he right?!0

No not me, I haven't got a date yet. Our house is sort of borderline on the neg equity thing just now and we don't want to sell and I can't really raise the money until March 09. Plus I am being a big scaredy cat and putting off finding out how it will affect my job.
So if house prices keep falling then it will be good for me from that point of view. thing is, I am sure house is not worth what online estimates say anyway given that the kitchen is falling to bits, the bathroom is a lovely shade of greeny blue with nice olive green 1960's wall tiles we are gradually managing to turn a neutral white colour. We have a small hole in the roof, nothing causing a leak or that but latest estimate is that the whole roof needs done too sometime soon!
sounds awful really but i really like my little falling to bits home!BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Crikey! New roofs are scary things! Sounds like the crunch will be good for you keeping your house, tho!;) I'm waiting for the OR interview with OH to find out what they say about ours. This time last year it was worth £180k, now a realistic sale price would be £145k - neg equity by approx £15k:eek: But it does mean we can keep it - at least until the end of the fixed rate in 2011! Probably have to sell then as we won't be able to afford the mortgage:rolleyes:
I used to have a lovely old cottage - very small but I loved it! I know what you mean about loving it - I've never felt the same way about any other house I've lived in, except the one I grew up in! I still get offended if the owners change anything in that house, and my parents sold it in 1994!!!:o:o0 -
Yeah scary but my husband has done some roofing (when he was out in Israel, tho what a welshman was doing in Israel
) and his brother too (he has four brothers) so we are probably going to have to save for materials and then he can do it. just hope he is safe! he can be a bit accident prone
And our fixed rate is finished in about ten months time but good thing is that OH is going to have cleared some of his debts by then so should be able to cope with monthly payment rise hopefully.
Hope you don't have to sell yours.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
