How strange that people can pass judgement on stuff they clearly have no understanding of...I think it shows a high level of ignorance on their part & exceptionally poor manners.

Oddly it used to bother me & now I know that yes everyone is entitled to their opinion ( preferably when it is informed!!!) but there is nothing I don`t know about being in debt crisis/financial marketplace & the offending poster is obviously way past his/her bedtime....so off you go youngster...come back in 30 years when you have lived in the real world.

Strangly some may not know this but I used to do Baliff work many years ago. I did however always remain professional at all times.

Obviously the role is very different now.

Welcome to the bankruptcy board Mr Bluesky.

If you really need to know I am Cambridge educated and have a first in economics. I live in a house that I pay the mortgage on and I get up for work at 6am in the morning. I have a high powered job and I am bankrupt. The reason I am bankrupt is my son and husband died and I was off work being treated for cancer and nearly died myself. So do I fit into what you think we are?

If you can read so well can I point you in the direction of Martind message at the top of the board which explains that this board is for support not judgement. This is from the owner of the site and he stands by his words.

This is a difficult board - many think bankruptcy too easy - and I dare say in some cases it is. Yet others have been through hell, seen family and home torn apart, and its a welcome and deserved release.

I didn't set up MSE to be personally judgemental, but to help people whatever their circumstances. If you have problems with the Bankruptcy laws then the 'Discussion Time' forum is the appropriate place.

This is to help people who are bankrupt rehabilitate their finances - and I personally wish them all the best - whatever their circumstances.

Many people who have gone bankrupt, have had serious debts, have hidden them for a time, been scared to confront them, suffered depression or have even had suicidal thoughts because of them.

So may I caution MoneySavers to err on the side of kindness. The fact bankrupts are here means they're looking for help, guidance and to take charge of their finances - and that in itself is admirable

Please use your knowledge and kindness to help rather than to berate.

If you feel it’s important to point something out that the poster may find negative but needs to understand, then it's not a problem, but do think carefully about your phrasing - people can be very sensitive and nuances may mislead when it’s in an online Forum.

Luckily I worked hard enough to reach a senior position (not in debt realisation I might add)...through serious hard work. I have paid taxes & over 30 years in debt repayments. As I say only comment when you have an `informed` viewpoint.

Does the poster even know that some on here are NOT BR.. just living with it??

Is there one of those bouncer type doormen that can eject this intruder from the Inn?? (& can I watch!!)
