What to do about Gas leaking? Alright Now

Water in pan boiled over and put gas ring out. I've turned off the oven, the central heating for water (on timer) and the ring, of course, opened a door. Not a huge smell of gas, but I don't have the greatest sense of smell. The gas ring would have been going for around 10 mins, max.

What else do I need to do?

It should clear - as the so called stenching agent which is the added smell in gas is very strong.

If it doesnt clear in an hour or so you could called Transco but all should be ok.

Thank you - I didn't even switch the light off, just in case, nor did I open the oven, again just in case.

I've just joined the Grocery Challenge and it looks like a takeaway tonight - I could cry!

Open windows and doors and give the house a good airing. Assuming it is only the gas from the burner (and not a separate gas leak) the air will clear quickly - good job it is a nice day.

As someone else said - if after giving the place a good airing, you can still smell gas, phone transco.

Thank you - I can't smell much, but I've given myself a headache from sniffing.

I'll wait for OH, due in ten mins, to see what he says. Also some of the windows need him to open, but the kitchen door is open and it is right next to the cooker, so that should help.

I really could cry - meal plan went wonky because I forgot an ingredient so came up with something else on spur of moment instead of doing the usual and resorting to takeway and now this!

There was no trace of gas before I started cooking. It's just from the ring keeping going after the pan boiled over and put the flame out.

I'm always doing this :o I did it twice this evening :o:o As long as there was just the gas from the ring, and not another gas leak, you'll be fine to continue cooking ;)
