Who to write to post BR...

So tonight I sit down and write to those nasty people who've been calling my mobile incessantly for weeks (and have been ignored) and tell them to talk to the OR and get orf my phone.
But should I write to the Inland Revenue? Or does the OR do that automatically? I was expecting to hear from them in a week or so anyway.
Your advice welcomed...

Well it is entirely up to you, some people will write to there creditors and send out copies of their bankruptcy orders. Others don't bother and save money and when their creditors ring they don't go through the ID process they just give their bankruptcy number, court and OR's details and put the phone down.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

I didnt contact anyone, my OR did all that, and if anyone called me [which they did 10 mins after I got bk from court!] I told them Id just been made bankrupt and gave the details and told them to deal with my OR from now on..\\ Debt Free April 2008 //\\ Single Mummy to 1 boy - 4 years & 5 months old //\\ Last weeks spend: £139.39 - 2 NSDs //0 -

Do you owe anything to HMRC? As Babybee says the OR will let them know.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Odds are HMRC check the insolvency register fairly regularly. I don't think they would be as much of a problem as sneaky DCA's trying to still get money even after they do know about your BR.====0 -
OR will notify them.0

I did write to all the creditors, but there were still some that never connected my letter up with the accounts, and some demanding letters received afterwards. I did phone them and tell them I was BR and they have put records straight. Nothing for a week now in the post.
I have been able to avoid the phone calls, firstly changed address and only one tracked down my phone no here, other than bank/BS who I had informed anyway, then I changed the telephone no made it ex-directory, so have escaped completely now. If I ring them now it comes up as "number withheld". None of them ever had my mobile number, but presumably that could been changed?Bankrupt 11th June 2008

OR does write to creditors but there is a delay depending on how busy they are, so i was still receiving phone calls/letter 2weeks after going BR.
I then sent of copies of petition just for peace.BR 08/05/2008

Billy as far as i know the OR has 8 wks to notify all your creditors from the date of bc so as already said you will get some calls still. As far as HMRC are concerned why should they get preferential treatment?.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau
