Boots-- grrrrrrrrrr

We have today visited a boots store, whilst there we decided to purchase some gifts for xmas, within there 3 for 2 offer! We decided on what to buy, which included a No 7 gift for £15! I then noticed they were still doing the deal, where you buy £15 of No7 and get £30 gift set free! So my GF picked this up as well!
The assistant put it all through along with the stuff we originally went in for!
She then said that the N07 deal did not include the xmas gift sets within the 3 for 2 offer! I challenged this as nowhere within the store did it say this! She the got the manager, who said it only included cosmetics (which was what we had chosen anyway), again this was not posted anywhere within the store.
The assistant then stormed off to have a look, obviously with the intention of making us look silly! She returned and admitted that it did not say this! Then proceeded to tell us that she had to follow the manager's decision. We decided that it was not worth purchasing the items and told her to remove them, partly because I was annoyed at this point! I didnt cause a scene, but decided I would contact boots directly!
Where do I stand on this matter, as clearly it is very misleading! Also does anyone have Boots customer service email address.
thanks in advance
Funky !

Hi newfunk,
I work for Boots and I as far as I'm aware the offers don't normally include the xmas gifts sets, however, defo ring customer services (number on the back of your receipt) and they will normally phone through to the store and honour it for you, especially if the conditions of the offer was not on any show material.Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
i went in yesterday with a few of them £5 vouchers you get when you spend £10 - the same applied to them - they did not include the gift sets - either christmas or normal ones.....not worth using the vouchers then as the cheapest thing is an eye pencil for £11 - wouldnt pay that....0

Hi, I did a Boots shop yesterday and discovered the adv card machine was giving 150 points for any purchase of no 7 xmas stock. I had a £5 voucher to use up and bought this lovely glittery nail polish which was £6 and only paid £1 for it. I then got 150 points added to my card for my purchase. So they gave me 50p to take it away. There was also an adv machine voucher for 400 points on Boots no 7 lip thingy (I forget what they called it but its basicly a lip gloss)This was £9.50 and with the £5 off voucher this brings it down to £4.50 and then they give you 400 points to buy it. I just love Boots.:j0 -
Boots are normally very good with customer service so I'm sorry you have had a bad time of it!
Do what I do when you want to let yourself be known.
Send a very snotty letter (I'm so disapointed, I'm such a loyal customer etc etc) to the address on the back of the receipt in Nottingham. They have a specialised customer services department and will be more than happy to try to please you. Note how you were made to feel patronised and stupid by the member of staff etc.
On another note, next time, go for someone at the till who looks a bit experienced and who won't mind if they bung in a free GWP (gift with purchase). It should say on the show material that the GWP isn't valid for gift purchases etc, but its not often clearly displayed . Tell Boots how you feel they should explain more clearly on show material etc etc, otherwise you'll get trading standards in (that scares them).
This really should have been dealt with instore, but hey.... take it up with the headoffice.... letters usually get a written response within a week at the latest, accompanied by a gift voucher
Good luck :T

After having my emails ignored 3 times I phoned them and they said they had only received one email but i still had not received a reply!!
Anyway after i had a moan about a parcel being left on my doorstep for 6 days they gave me 500 points as a consolation!! Not much was it but better than nothing!travelover0
