Are there any shortcuts to improving a credit rating?
I understand that paying everything on time and regularly are key to this, but have seen a number of site who suggest that they can improve the rating ... is this possible?
From a number of these, I have seen that all they give is a report of your "past" ... which I don't see as being any help for the "future" ... financially, I am in a better position now and I am in better control of my money ... but, my rating isn't as good as I would like ... short of waiting years for it all to clear, I don't know what I could do.
Does anyone know how long entries stay on your file for?

We missed out on the reclaim of nearly £5000 bank charges from HSBC, but picked up over £10000 in PPI claims against them instead. I am now debt free and working to help my other half clear hers
