Hi and welcome to the forum.

Could you post your SOA (statement of affairs) so that we can see what you are spending and where and maybe help you cut down. I think there is a sticky at the top of this board about SOAs.

You won't loose your house, your credit history will be damaged for a while - if the companies mark your history.

They should suspend interest and accept smaller payments in time, this way means you get to keep your house. I should imagine they will probably recommend a DMP debt management plan. There is a big support thread hanging around the first pages with over 200 members so you are definately not alone!

If you want more information today then you can look on the national debtline website they have some good information on there about your rights - in fact the site is so good I ran my own on that information alone.

    Hiya

You need to post up a full statement of affiars, so that people can see the situation.

If you can arrange your budget so that you can afford all the secured debt and the priority items (utilities etc), then it is possible to do a Debt Management Plan that allows you to pay a proportion of your outstanding debt each month, over several years.

Hi there, :hello: You haven't failed. You made a mistake, but mistakes can be rectified. You and your hubby can work together to get it sorted. There are so many people on here who will support you through the journey of getting yourself debtfree. Just remember it took a while to get to the stage you have, it will take a while to get it sorted. Little steps.

  • Hi there newbie, NUF!!!!ter is right, you have not failed. you have just got in a habit, things come up, things that sometimes your stuck paying or that you were a little naughty buying something. It human nature it happens to us all. The great thing is you have been honest now and recognised it. But now its time to get tight, frugal, and live off those 9p noodles! althought the credit crunch they're about 15p now!! haha!! Hope that cheered you up!

Put your SOA on here. Its different for everyone to make the changes, im the worst, i live at home even tho it would prob be a tad cheaper elsewhere but there are other factors that keep me living here for the time being. So think about what you can do. The food budget i found was something easy to save money on strait away. then it was no cable or sky. get a 20 quid freeview box instead. dont buy a tv guide, get it in my saturday paper instead which i use my student voucher for. see...sounds tight but buy doing this ive saved five pounds extra a month which went towards my Credit cards. I did pay it off quicker. the little things add up. Piggy back click thing is great i got a free piggy bank with my points and save the change in it!

my essay over! but really try, put your SOA on here and we will all try to help. This is the first day, but each will be better. Good Luck
