SKY OFFER - 2nd SKY+ Box for £49 (PVR3) or Free!!!!

Get a 2nd Sky+ box for £49 that is the PVR3 with records 40hours (160gb You have 80gb and Sky will have 80gb)

http://existing.sky.com/offers.asp

Sky+/Sky+160 with Multiroom: If you relocate your existing box and purchase a multiroom subscription, or if you are an existing Sky+ with Multiroom customer, the Sky+ box is £49/€69 (otherwise £199/€299) and the Sky+ 160 box is £199/€299 (otherwise £299/€449) and standard installation of your Sky+/Sky+ 160 box and relocation of your existing box is free (otherwise £60/€75).

Ok so as i was out the 12 months of my multiroom they just did a new install as £49 (New viewing card too) and then i cancelled the one upstairs, normal Digi box.

So new box PVR3 (asked for Pace) for £49. and my one upstairs with the viewing card on ebay is worth at least £50-£60. So really speaking it's free.

If you are out of your 12 months this is the best route as you get an extra viewing card which is worth double the amount if you just have the box.

But if you are not then it is still fine to get that box just quote the T&C to them and they will do it. The might say we need to charge you £99 and credit you £50 as the codes are not on some computers.

Also ring this number to save more pennies 0800 279 3366 (option 1)
I got it on the baove number but most people have managed to get it on this number 08708 501 607.

Also if you have a PVR1/2 downstairs order this and you will get the new box and just ask the installer to fit the new one downstairs and your old one upstairs.

Hope this is of some help

I've just (LITERALLY) had this installed and my multi-box makes a non stop clicking noise from the hard disk drive - is this normal?? If it is then I'm going to tell them to take it back cos its rubbish.

i currently have an amstrad sky+ box downstairs..

how would this offer work for me? i think i currently pay about £35 per month as i have standard package + movies..

if i bought one of the £49 boxes, what would be done with my existing box and how much would i be paying per month?

    thanks

You would need to open a Multiroom account which will cost you an extra £10 pm, but you dont need to pay for Sky+ as you have a main channel.

So what you could do is get this as for you old box to be moved upstairs and you new PVR3 with 40 hours recording downstairs.

But this really is a great deal for people who already have multiroom and out of 12 months. But you can still get it if you have just taken out multiroom aswell.

Just wondered any advice you guys could give me as to the best way in which I could save money, in my new house.

Would i get 2 boxes sky+ and a normal box or 2 sky+ boxes reason i ask is i am looking to get sky+ on this offer but i have not been with sky for almost 2 years and now my box in the living room is broken i will not have it to use in my bedroom for the multi. So when the came with my sky+ they would not have a box to use for multi,i have already tried to get it without multi and no luck so might have to get it now with multi.

Also whats the best model to get i hear amstrad are trouble.

I also need to know how do they wire them do they run ugly wires from one room to the next or is it done wireless.
As when i first had digital years ago i remember having to have it in my room and when they said what they was going to do i said no way and they managed to get a signal with messing my ariel cables around in my loft which goes around my house and i got it that way,but i need to know people who have had it done what they do.
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

didnt think you could do two rooms with sky+ at the same time as a single box needs a dual output LNB setup on the dish, surely two boxes would need dual-dual or quad LNB which would be a !!!!!! with the small minidish?

I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

yes you CAN do two rooms at the same time with SKY plus as you can take four outputs from the minidish (one sky plus and 3 2 normal, 4 normal, or 2 sky plus) I know I have 2 sky plus it even tells you this in the terms and conditions of the offer on the sky website. If you check out the other thread it already answers a lot of these questions http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=96781
