Coin sorter?

Does anyone know if there are any of those large coin sorters in Northern Ireland like the ones you see in the supermarkets in England? The ones where you just go up and dump in all your coins and it converts it to notes?

Never seen 1 here TBH but have seen them in England myself too:o

Remember they charge you commission, the best way is to bag yourself and take to your own bank to pay into your account, some banks can be snottery about doing this but they have to take them off you if your paying them into your own account. I have solved the problem buy dividing my change jar into £1.15 lumps and giving that to the Ice Cream man every day for 2 "Pokes for the Wains" he doesn't seem to mind all the change, just happyl to be making a sale during our great sunny patch of whether:rolleyes:
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

    Ha brilliant idea! :D

its actually to put into the wee one's account, just couldn't be annoyed waiting for ages in the bank as they count them :(
  • The bank should have a machine to do it, I doubt the teller will sit there and count all your pennies.

i tried to do this ages ago and got some crap from the bank about how htey could only take a certain amount of bags per branch. something like 2 or 3. so i ahd to trek round a few different branches of nationwide to lodge them! had about £30 in 2ps and 1ps

Saw one of these machines in a shop down south, brilliant idea.

The next best thing is a coin sorting machine of your own, though it's a lot of money to lay out when you can count coins yourself.

I save a lot of loose change so bought myself one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Coin-Bag-Wizard-coin-counter-sorter_W0QQitemZ130232985654QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item130232985654&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

It works perfectly and you can slide the coin bag over the end and pour your coins in, you just need to get some empty bags next time you're in the bank.

If you go into the bank and get them to give you the little plastic bags, just fill them to the quantity required e.g £1 of bronze (2p's & 1p's) £5 of 5p's etc. I usually find they are quite happy to accept them like that as they don't have to count them. If they don't know you well they might weigh them but that's about it.

first trust have never had a problem with me lodging load sof coined bags into my account. have given them up to 100 bags (of various denominations) at a time!

they dont count the coins in the bag but if they did they would just weigh them on their machine
