I'm really considering starting up this for a bit of extra cash over summer, before i head to university. So far i only use crowdology and only get a few pounds per month, so i was wondering, is it a good idea to only use a few survey sites, or use alot?
Just over summer?
I don't think many pay out within 6 weeks let alone being able to gain that much within a month or two- your looking at at least 6 months plus to get anything close to £10 and then another month or two to wait for the emailed code vouchers or paypal amount, it would seem those paying via paypal take much much longer to get. Some take years just to get to the payment threshold.
Sorry to sound so negative- survey sites are great to fill the odd free minutes in and for feeling that you have some impact on the consumer world, but if your looking at gaining a decent sum from them that would mean you'd need to be with them for years and in addition, be the sort of person they like to interview- many surveys do just screen you out once they find out your not earning £45K+
Nice to do though, I'd still recommend it but just don't use it as an income source or you'll be on the streets by the time you get to Uni!
If you scroll up, someone has kindly put up a list of sites which they find good, have to disagree with a few myself (toluna are a waste of space IME) but maybe it depends on your personal profile. With toluna you wont get any sort of voucher, emailed or not within 2-3 months of claiming and possibly more.0 -

The origin panel - same as planet panel, if you like prize draws (and i won £10 with them) stick with it, if you do not feel too lucky, your giving your opinion for free without potentially winning any reward.
These 2 panels may introduce new rewards in the future like cash, paypal, cheque, vouchers but at the moment they do not. Most survey sites do start to introduce more rewards as members start to feed back that they would like more payment options or reward options.
GFK - one of the best panels i use, usually win in the prize draws over 50% of the time i estimate! you get a large variety of voucher choices and they post to you very quickly your rewards once you order them. I would definately recommend GFK it almost guarantees you winning a prize as they put lots of little prizes on the site for many people to win as opposed to one person winning a massive £25,000 or something silly like that, when your more likely to get all the numbers on the lottery than win.
Hope this honest feedback of my own opinion helps you.

Has anyone any experence of how long it take IPSOS to e-mail an amazon voucher. I applied for my first one on 6th June and the current status says 'Submitted-Step 2 10/06/2011' which is a bit meaningless as I can't find any info how many steps are involved?0

I'm at the same stage.ordered 7th June, usually they have arrived within 3 weeks of ordering, was about to email today and checked FAQs first and it says to allow 6 weeks for any voucher delivery.0 -
My Amazon voucher took about 5 weeks to arrive.0

I emailed them to raise this issue a while ago and was basically fobbed off with it's not their fault but the outside company who process the claims. No excuse, particularly when so many other sites now give e-vouchers immediately.0 -
