Does this sound ok? It is just myself going BR, not my husband and I am trying to keep him out of it as much as I can. Please let me know if there is anything that you think could be worded better or should be excluded/included. I wonder if they would want to know why I havnt gone back to work? - I relocated 40 miles from my old job, dont drive and live in the middle of nowhere on a milirary base, lol. Should I include something to this effect? I have ** out dates and figures.
I started using credit cards in **** to supplement my income; I managed to meet the repayments at this time.
In **** I moved in with my partner and used credit cards to pay the associated costs.
In **** my partner and I were married and I paid for part of the wedding costs.
In **** I obtained a loan of approximately £**** to pay off my credit cards.
In **** I separated from my husband and had to relocate. I used credit cards to pay the associated costs. I also had an increased cost of living as I now had to pay all bills myself. As my outgoings were more than my income I had to supplement my income with credit cards.
In **** I obtained another loan for approximately £*** in order to purchase a laptop, which was needed for a college course. I have since sold this and used the money to clear some of my credit card debts.
In April **** I obtained a further loan for approximately £**** to pay off the balance of my previous loan and to consolidate my credit cards.
In July **** I obtained two more loans for approximately £**** and £**** in a final attempt to take control of my finances and reduce my monthly outgoings to a manageable level. Unfortunately I was not in a position to meet the repayments without relying on further credit to meet my other financial commitments and daily living expenses.
In September **** I divorced my then husband and paid the associated costs through the use of credit cards.
In August **** I began proceedings to enter into an IVA. This process was complicated and elongated when I fell pregnant in November.
My son was born in May ****, and my IVA was completed in June 2007.
I married my husband in June **** and relocated to substantially cheaper accommodation in order to attempt to keep up with my IVA repayments.
My maternity pay ceased in February ****, and I now have no income. My IVA has since been paid from my husbands wages, which are not large enough to sustain these payments and also to provide for the family's daily living expenses and his other financial commitments.
I therefore believe I have no alternative but to apply for my own bankruptcy, as I have no way of meeting my monthly IVA repayments.

Hi Raych,
I think that just about says it all without going into too much detail. It's a very familiar story of how people get caught in a debt trap, and one that the Judges and O.R's are seeing all too often.
I wouldn't change anything; it's a candid and accurate account of why you're petitioning for bankruptcy.

Yes that seems fine as rich says. My one comment and i am by no means an expert is that last sentance could maybe be changed to say. After taking legal advice from....... bc was reccomended and i am therefore applying for my own bc.
I know it asks in the main SOA if you have taken legal advice but it may just look more official if you add it at the bottom. As the way it reads now it is uncertain if you have sought advice.
Hope you don't mind just my opinion.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

I put a similar comment to what Dalip said and the judge actually looked at that and commented that it was good that i'd taken advice as she'd normally ask and if the CCCS had advised BR who was she to disagree
(i didn't mention that she was a judge and if she wanted to disagree i'm sure she was entitled to!!)

Ok, that sounds good, I shall change the last sentance then, thanks all.0

Well Done Raych.
Sounds fine to me..i think i waffled a bit much about Ex's etc as being a cause but it was. i also listed as you have about the dates etc for each loan and consolditation i did.
I also added i had taken professional advice regarding the situation and that all had come back with BR as the only viable option.BSC MEMBER NO. 125:D
