i read that you could get this if you come under certain criteria. what does it involve? could we install solar panels for example..?

No it doesn't cover solar thank goodness! The Government are experts at wasting money, but even they draw a line at that much money!!!

There are a number of threads about such grants. People have been very disapointed in this organisation. They state they completely overcharge for their installations and the amount you have to pay is far too much.

I have no way of confirming that this is correct. However you may wish to get an independant Corgi plumber(not BG) to give you a quote first, before you contact Warmfront.
