    hey SS.

prices are the same online and instore. however the things to bear in mind...

    1. there are an increasing number of internet only lines that you wont find advertised in store (white goods mostly, at the mo) not sure if we can put the orders through instore on these, or whether it can only be done online or over the phone.

    2. prices in the catalogue are often not current. 99.9% of the time they will not have gone up, however many may have gone down either temporarily or permanantly. a lot of stores now have a PC set up for you to browse the website whilst you are in store, so also check to see the latest prices before you buy (you may get a better offer).

    3. on small, incidental items dotted around the queue system etc the best price will usually be found in store, as many of these are not listed on the website.

you want info or advice on anything specific?

  • I went to buy a double duvet set instore. Reserved it online as it was half price. Unfortunately when I typed in my reservation number instore (1 hour after reserving it) it came up as full price. Didn't bother taking a copy of the reservation e-mail otherwise I would have queried it.

    Thanks PD. :D

Went in and everything was as the web price. :)

You seem to be in the know so, I will eventually want to order a bed, wardrobes etc. Now they say delivery can be 28 days but I want it to arrive at my new place rather than current place and obviously can't have it arrive before I'm there. I also don't want to order it nearer the time and be without a bed for say 3 weeks if it does take 28 days.

Do you know if I can order it and request a delivery sate say 4 weeks away?

the best thing to do is to put all items you want delivered through as one order, therefore paying one delivery charge of £4.95. all these items will then follow the longest lead time, so even if half your order is ready to go they will hold it until they can deliver everything in one go.

if no dates are available when you place the order, argos direct (AD) will phone you when they are ready to dispatch to arrange a time for delivery. they cant deliver if you havent moved in yet, so if they have to hold the order for a while then they will. you generally cant phone them to negotate delivery more than 2 weeks in advance because they dont release the schedules that often.

i recommend ordering earlier rather than later in case of stock delays etc. cant have the new scouser towers looking shabby, can we?! :D
