Normally I think no, but dealextreme.com have a sim unlock attatchment for $7.26 (about £3.80 through paypal) which you slide under your normal sim card which fools the phone into thinking its unlocked. This could be a cheap way of adapting these phones for your sim. There's a list of compatible phones on the site I think, the product code is 12167. It seems to get the thumbs up on Hotukdeals.com.

    Good idea...
My brother bought the LG Jaguar KB130 that was going for £9.99 in Tesco's a number of weeks ago. Great little phone with camera +++, but locked to Tesco's Network. Ordered a SmartSim from DealExtreme and it works fantastically.... but check first if it is compatible with the phone you want to unlock - It said it was OK for Nokia phones, but didn't work on mine...did a bit more research afterwards and found (by accident) that it was not compatible with that specific Nokia model...so be careful there!

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Why was it moved here? The whole point was that deals from all places could be posted in the thread.

Quoting from the phone unlock forum on here:
There are also now a new batch of unlockable phones coming out , the Nokia 2310, 2610 , 2630, 1112, 1200, 1208 and some of the later 1600's all use a method of lock that we cannot do for free at this time. These are now unlockable by using service equipment at a market stall etc
so I think it will cost you the best part of a tenner to unlock.

I've unlocked a few myself in the past and this model isn't on the trycktill or nokiafree websites so please be aware before you buy.

if you unlock a phone (haven't managed it yet even though it should work so will have to pay) can you then switch between different networks or does it lock itself again to the first network sim you put in afterwards? I have quite a few free sims with free minutes on diff networks and would like to swap about once I have unlocked. So its only worth paying if this is possible.
    TIA

If you unlock the phone then it remains unlocked. However check how much people are trying to charging to do it and add it in to the cost of the phone - ebay is a good benchmark.
