Selling photos

Ive seen some posts mentioning selling photos to stock photo websites. Just wondered if anyone has done this before, what sort of prices do they pay and whats the best site to use?
Thanks

If you have a good enough camera (most digital SLRs will do), try signing up to a couple of microstock sites (shutterstock, fotolia, dreamstime, istockphoto, bigstockphoto). You'll need a few hundred pictures to make any decent money though. As for how much they pay - well it's mostly below a $1 per image sold - but you can make multiple sales, so it can all add up.
