National Insurance Card

Not sure if this is the right place for this.

I can't find my National Insurance Card. I wanted to use it for ID for something and couldn't find it.

How can I get a new one? Who do I need to call?

Thanks

A simple google search for 'replacement national insurance card' produced...

"If you’ve lost your NI number card
If you've lost your NI number card you should tell your local Jobcentre Plus or social security office. If you want a replacement card you'll need to fill in an application form. Remember you're only allowed one replacement card."

If you want to use it for ID are you sure they will accept it ?, a lot of places wont accept it as ID as it doesn't verify who the person actually is.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

It's certainly not good enough for financial services identification.

A national insurance number card (NINO card) is not proof of your identity, it is just a reminder of your national insurance number.
P.S. Something like this is also written on the card

I think - but I'm not at work so can't check this quickly and haven't got the heart to look on the CRB website - that it IS acceptable as one of the multiple forms of ID needed for CRB checks.

I'm sure I haven't seen MY card for years, it's probably in my maiden name.
