Hi...These are becoming more and more popular and i wondered if anyone knows where i can purchase them perhaps online more cheaply than in the shops. I appreciate that wrapping paper is much more cost effective but they are more convenient for me with little hands trying to get into everything !!

Sorry, It's probably not much use to you at this time of year but I tend to buy them from tesco just after Valentines day, Mothers day etc when they are reduced in price.

I bought mine from Boots during the period when you got extra points for the Orchid bags................................:)
Do you have a market near you? I buy mine from there sometimes because they sell really nice ones at a competitive price, especially at Christmas time. Huge bags for £1 each last year.
If you have a Debenhams Gold Card always ask for a bag when you pruchase something as they are free when using your card.
Lots of card shops sell them if you look around and I don't mean Birthdays/Clinton etc because they are really nice but also really pricey.
Costco sell a box of all different sizes - perhaps you could find someone who has a card and will let you go with them next time?

i was at InStore (think they're the 'posher' version of poundstretchers :rotfl: ) yesterday and they had these reduced quite a bit. probably last years stock but worth a look. normally poundstretchers have them at fairly good prices anyway
i believe the packages were something like 3 small or 2 medium or 1 large for 49pfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
They are not that difficult to make. I did some with a Sunday school class of 8-11 year olds once.
It's probably easier if you have a ready made bag on hand at first so you can see how they are made
Decide how big you want the bag to be. Find a box of roughly the right size. Take a piece of wrapping paper and fold over about a inch along one side- this will be the top of your bag. Wrap the paper round the box, glue up the side and fold and glue the bottom end as if you were wrapping a parcel. Slide out the box. "Pleat" the sides of the bag. You can then punch holes in the top of the bag and thread ribbon through or stick on a handle.0 -
I noticed Tesco had Christmas Gift Bags. Different sizes. I think they were all red, with possibly a snowflake on the front. They were very cheap. (23p?) Also packets of matching gift tags. I thought they looked good.
For Birthdays etc, Boots have still got the Natural Collection at BOGOF, and the bags are already reduced to 24p each. So 2 for 24p. These also have tissue paper and tag included. Not sure what ones you could use for the blokes though, as these are very flowery.
Hope that helps.
