The smile shot function amuses my daughter so we are all happy:D

Do you want a point and shoot one, or something with a better quality picture and the ability to create different effects etc? Basically, handheld or DSLR?
Some points that may help your decision making...
~ Anything more than 8mpix is useless unless you want to make A2 posters of your pictures so dont be fooled into buying a 10/12mpix one thinking its better.
~ Make sure the zoom is optical rather than digital, as digital zoom just reduces the quality of the picture.
~ Get one with a decent memory card (SanDisk, at least 2GB is plenty).
~ Ask the salesman what lens is in the camera, if he doesnt know then he wont be selling you a camera he knows enough about!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Ours were all cheap, but for the one's I've meddled with (so far) kodak has been better so far, but not tried all makes yet and were cheaper than the ones you're after.
I've had 2 Samsung camera's and both haven't been that good for spectacular piccies only just about for basic, depending how tempremental they were at the time on trying to get it to take the pic in the 1st place & were around £100.
An aunt has an olympus one, it's better than them at £150 but not much better than the samsungs we had and was slightly awkward to use.
My bro recently brought a Kodak one though with extra zoom in (something like that?) and it beats the camera's I brought & meddled with (so far) as I like easy / to turn it on and click without having to go through a ton of options 1st, and the easiest to use out the lot and cheapest at just under £100.O0
