Tax on Surveys??

Hi Guys, Looking for some advice.
Read the thread on mystery shopping and completed tax etc.
Do you also have to declare money from paid surveys??
Any advice appreciated

Hi,
I am not 100% on this but I once got through for the TNS mystery shopping, I was also sent a form with my welcome pack to fill in regarding my national insurance and tax. Being on incapacity benefit at the time I knew it was not OK for me to be earning any money, and I knew that any money I did earn would first come off my benefit, (if its over a certain amount it also disqualifies me from any benefit no matter how irregular the money is) and second be taxed at 22% as all second incomes are.

I hpe this helps, yes, as far as I can see, you are liable for tax on this and if you are on any type of benefit, from income support to housing benefit, it can affect this.

The money i have earned from surveys Tax is the last thing i would worry about, lol.

Yes, you have to declare any income that you earn from surveys but I bet most people don't. You also have to declare income made from other sources such as finding a bargain in a charity shop and selling it for thousands at an auction. It hasn't happened to me but you never know.
