Website which shows how long a house has been on the market

Options
Hi all,

I don't know where I have seen it but have lost the website address that I had which allowed you to search an area or a postcode and it showed you how long a property had been on the market and how many price drops it has had since it came onto the market.

Can anybody help me as I have been racking my brains but to no avail?

Thanks all

Nowhere tracks how long a property has been for sale for specifically, but there are a number of ways to try to find out:

1] Property Snake will show, for those properties that have been reduced and are tracked by Property Snake (e.g. not Rightmove properties), how many days it has been on the market, with THAT agent.

2] Property Bee will show you (once distributed reporting is enabled again, down at the moment) how long a property has been for sale with the CURRENT agent, where somebody else has had it come up in their searches in the past, but only since January 2008.

3] Up My Street will show you how long a property has been online/when it was last updated at least, for the CURRENT agent. This is only for the results that show within Up My Street (not all houses, sites).

If a property changes agents, you won't be able to spot that. With some new builds, as they are building the houses they will change the Rightmove (and other site) details to reflect a similar property. So, say, there are 20 for sale in a block, there might only ever be 4-5 adverts in total for them, not 20, and the details are just amended as they're trying to promote/push new or particular ones.

There is no one definitive place where you can get the information from in its purest and most correct form. The above are just good indications/somewhere to get a clue from.

And ask here as some of us have been tracking specific properties for well over a year!

    Cool, thanks for that site.
A house I have been looking at (I know now is not the time to be buying but the house is just about perfect for me which is the only reason I've shown some interest) was put up for £175k in Sept 2007 and was then knocked down to £162k and is not down to £152k, 13% reduction in 9 months.
That has definately given me more food for thought!
