Done OHs paperwork as far as I can. Raised a query with Amazon as 1 of OHs birthday presents hasn't come. I have sown, sweetcorn, courgettes, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions (have got some sets as well) leeks (bit late but never mind), basil, parsley and peppers. Will have to wait and see what germinates. Going to stuuf my face as ravenous.

Good luck with the gardening. How do you keep the slugs and snails from eating your produce? My veg growing efforts are always a wash-out due to snail attack.

I have bought nematodes in the past and these certainly nuked the slugs. Don't have too much trouble with snails. You can water the plants with garlic powder in, that can help. Bake eggshell and then crush up and spread around susceptible plants, copper rings on plant pots, used grapefruit for them to crawl into etc. HTH

Fay on the stripey socks thread has some interesting ways of dealing with slugs and snails from sending them to her snail sanctuary in the chicken run..... to leaving them dry bran (I'm sure that's what she uses) apparently they love it, but it expands when they've eaten it....I'm sure you can see where this is going  and they die in an explosive manner.

Another one here who now feels even more lazy than they did before!

I keep meaning to plant some salady stuff - I say I will do it every year and never get round to it, although I do usually manage to remember my courgettes.......must try harder :o

Remember you guys all have jobs and nobody wants little old me, so have to do something useful.

This mornings agenda includes scone production. Have a good book I'm reading which will probably get my undivided attention this afternoon. I have read it before ages ago but I'm enjoying it more this time round.

What book is that lucielle? One of the best DFW things I have done is to join the library. I used to spend a fortune on books, but with the library I can try new authors without worrying whether I will like them or not. I love it! I must have saved hundreds of pounds :o

Its kind of a teenagers book and part of a trilogy. I am on the last part. I have a wide and varied taste when it comes to book and just devour them. I would love to see it made into a film especially by Peter Jackson who, in my opinion did a good job with the Lord of The Rings. Right I'm burbling, the first book is Sabriel, then Lirael and finally Abhorsen and they are by an Australian called Garth Nix. I have read a few of his other books but these(again in my opinion) are his best.
