Holidays nearly over. OH is off this week and I've only got a 3 day week. Hopefully going to the county show tomorrow. Pray for nice weather. Delivered some Avon got more to go, which I'll do later on tonight. All washing done and put away, as did most of it whilst on hols.

Minimum payments made as OHs wages will hit rock bottom as he is off and it goes down to basic for the next 2 weeks. Still got school shoes to buy and a pair of trainers. Horses are fine and don't appear to have missed me!

Have phoned the man about my new oven hinges as I was hoping they would be waiting for us when we got home. Been out to the veggie patch and my sprouts have been munched by caterpillars, so spent half an hour squishing the little perishers. A courgette has morphed into a marrow, I feel a batch of piccalilli coming on. Picked some beetroot, I will make jelly out of them! Pulled the last of the onions and gave the dying broccoli plants to the hens for them to scratch about in.

OH is making tea, beefburgers on buns for the chaps and we're having them with salad. Hopefully get some more Avon delivered tonight.

I have been doing some number crunching (a scary prospect). To be debt free by Dec 2011 we will have to re-pay £263 per week. I am not sure this is going to be doable, as we will still have our usual outgoings. For the moment I am going to moniter how much we actually repay over the next couple of months as I feel we have had some slippage.

I am also aware that that time of year is only just round the corner and I need to start thinking about that. DS2s birthday is also coming up fast in September and at the moment has hasn't got a clue what he wants.

Onto other things, my very clever nephew has passed his GCSEs with 10 A*s. Needless to say everyone is very proud of his achivements. My oldest sister is coming oop North for a visit as they are dropping off my niece at Durham uni at the beginning of October. Must not panic, house will be tidy and warm. These southern softies! Didn't put the heating on until end of November last year!

Number crunching is good - even if you have to tweak the figures occasionally, it still shows that you are on track, more or less!

  • I'd go with H ref the number crunching. Things change and it does no harm to revisit every so often to see how on track you are. Most importantly you've got your DF date and are working towards that. One thing I never took into account when I was calculating the figures was the decreasing amount of interest.

LOL about the heating. My kids mentioned that yesterday - IN AUGUST - they must be joking. Like most of us on here we'll hang fire as long as we possibly can!

Well it looks like we will be going to the show. Its not raining yet. Kicking myself, if we had booked sooner could've saved 10% on entry fees. Ah, well you learn.

OH has got a list of jobs for the week, some for his business, but the main one I want done is getting the chimney swept. Once that is done I can think about getting the carpets washed. I tend to do them twice a year and then I can feel smug!
