I need help!

Hi everyone.

I'm not bad with my money as such, but I'm such a !!!!!! for sticking my head in the sand when I should be sorting things out!

I owe my bank (lloyds) £3200 and EGG £1800 making the grand total of £5000.

Ironically this is about the amount I claimed back from lloyds last year for bank charges!

I have stopped my direct debits and transferred them to my business bank account for the time being, but EGG want the £1800 like, yesterday! Plus I owe another £180 to Three.

What can I do? Can I get another credit card and pay off the EGG £1800 for free / minimum cost and just pay the new card back at £XX per month?

Lloyds want me to pay them £100 but then £50 of that is being swallowed up by interest so i will only be losing £50 of debt a month!!

I am a self employed Web designer and have recently started to get lots busier so hopefully wont be in this situation for long, but I have not told my fiancee about any of this yet as I feel far too bad to do that. I even took on a new client today for £900 so that I can pay the bank off quicker without her realising.

How can I get out of debt? Any advice?

with all due respect £5000 is nothing as debt is concerned, however, you are obviously struggling with it, and I suggest that you post your SOA and we will see if we can help. Is your business making money? Can you take a part time job to supplement your income, you have to do something in the short term, what is your credit rating like? maybe you could apply for a low apr transfer balance card, you will not be able to transfer for free though, most charge about 3%.
