Ok Iam getting a bit mad now with A&L. I opened a Direct ISA issue 4 and wanted to transfer my existing A&L ISA to that, which is allowed they said.
Each time I call, to find out why its not transferred yet, it takes 28 days. Anyway, today I call again, and apparantly they tried to transfer, but my account is dormant. Since opening in 2005 I havent used it it seems, you are supposed to top up each year, even if just a pound to keep it active...this is news to me and I cant find it in their small print.
So now I have to find a branch, get my ID, go and un-dormant it before I can transfer within the same Bank....what can I say...I cant be rude on here.
Any advise anyone, A&L banks are few and far between to visit at lunch time and I dont get the have to keep active rule, cant see it in their small print, apparantly its there..anyone see it.
Thnks

A&L didn't tell me about the new rules that mean tranfering between ISA's takes longer, meanwhile I made 7 phonecalls to try and do it by phone until one operator finally told me I would need to fill out a form. I was so fed up with this run around that I moved my ISA to another building society. A&L have subsequently sent me a cheque for £50
