IFA - first time user
Hello, Thanks for your patience - I've posted several times today! Bit stuck today with thoughts about our future. Is it worth seeing a financial adviser to help us decide what to do with any savings and investments we have and just to help guide us along the over 50s path. Are there such things as initial, useful, free…

Transfers of funds with different classes?
Has anyone any experience of transferring funds between platforms when each platform offers a different class of the same fund? I'm waiting for a reply from the platforms concerned and have read assorted things online ranging from "you can't" to "you can, they just make it difficult".

Halifax Share Dealing no longer allowing some IT purchases.
I got a letter from Halifax earlier this week saying: “On 1st Jan 18 new rules changed how ITs and Funds can be traded. because of these changes we’ve taken the decision to withdraw the option to make further purchases of some Of these investments” In my case this just affects Twenty Four Income Fund IT. Keeping a little bit of parental control post 18
Hi everyone, my twin sons’ kids savers are coming to an end at age 17. They already have a lump sum in a junior ISA which they’ll get at 18, and I’d like to keep a little control over the rest. It’s about £20k so enough for something big, like a house deposit , or to help with tuition fees. I don’t want to put it in my own…

Farmland / Timber Funds
I've been considering agricultural land and timber investment as a future diversifier away from equities (and bonds, which I'm less keen on these days). Does anyone have experience of funds in agricultural land and / or forestry? I've looked at some forestry ETFs online (eg WOOD). Anyone bought them? I have read that UK…

Property Funds - Europe
I've been having a look online for property funds in Eastern / Central Europe. There seem to be some REITs, but mostly in Western Europe. What structures are used in Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Bulgaria etc? I'd probably be sticking to only EU countries for now, as that gives me more faith in their regulatory…

Individual Investments or SIPP?
I have been thinking about investing around £5k to £10k in either the HSBC Global Strategy or VLS60 fund. Maybe a mix of the two. I'd be interested in people's thoughts on that one. I'm looking for some capital growth through investment in the broad range of classes both of these funds offer across the global markets. What…

Reccomend a simple investment platfrom for the novice
I have a ISA with Charles Stanley Direct. In it I have a Vanguard Life Strategy 60 worth about £5000 which has been there for 4 years or so. I just can't give my money away !
I wanted to set up a couple of bare trusts for my (now adult) son and daughter - just to give them a bit of a helping-hand with their future pensions or income when they reach retirement age, but I can't find any providers out there who will give me this option, without me having to wade through the treacle of their…
