10K for short term
Hi folks, I have 10.5K in my Virgin cash ISA which is only earning a poxy 1.75%. I used to have a fixed 3.3% with Lloyds, which is why I went for Virgin as it was the best ISA rate that paid monthly interest. I've been thinking, I'm probably better pulling the money out of this ISA in to my LLoyds current account which…
120k - house or some sort of stock market investment?
I've recently inherited quite a bit of money and a share of a house. First option is to buy the other part of the house and have no money....I'd be about 20k short so would need a small mortgage. Plan would be to rent out, its a nice, well maintained terrace house in a rentable area and looking at others I should get…
Endowment or repayment pay off
Hello, as the interest rate on ISA's are terrible at the moment I am thinking about overpaying on my mortgage. I have half endowment and half repayment. I am now (hopefully) within the magic five years before retirement. As a bit of background, I've been investing in S&S ISA's on & off for several years, self selecting the funds using a low cost broker & held on the CoFunds platform. More by luck than judgement, I've built up a portfolio that's currently worth about £75K…
Use of FE Risk Scores
Hi I wonder if anyone on here uses the FE risk scores to manage risk in there portfolios? I am managing the risk in a SIPP (now in Drawdown). Plugging the data into the Trustnet site gives me an overall risk score of under 45 - simply using weighted averaging on a spread sheet gave me a score of around 75. I know the…
