Fast Turnaround Saving?
Good Afternoon All, I feel from the outset that this may be a wasted post but I thought I would give it a try anyway. At the moment I have no savings and about £400 in a current accout. After my mortgage and a number of short term but quite large loans are paid off I have only about £100 left to save each month. When my…

Allocation of assets to pay for care
Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this. Couldn't find a more appropriate one... It's a question about paying for care, if needed. Scenario: a couple with a house worth say £250k, owned as tenants in common. They each have assets of stocks and shares/savings etc worth say £100k each, individually held (not jointly).…

Morningstar portfolio tool
Does anyone use this? If i input data on a particular holding which i may have bought in batches on different dates and at different prices, it lumps them altogether. I wonder if the analysis data automatically factors in the different purchase dates/holding times and prices or is it feeding duff info?

5% FlexDirect clampdown?
I posted some weeks back asking for suggestions on good interest rates having maxed out all decent regular savers. One of the recommendations was Nationwide Flexdirect 5% on £2500. Although t & c state this rate will be paid on only one account the general consensus appeared to be that you would receive interest on two…

S+S ISA Buying/Selling strategy
Hi all, I'm pretty new to this investment thing - I started a S+S ISA in May, and so far it's done pretty well - up 15% in 7 months. I've basically been sticking £1000 in it occasionally, and shifting it 1 or 2 funds/shares, but until yesterday, I'd not sold anything. The fund I did sell was the only one to have made a…

Inflation down to 2.2%
