Why are the savings rates all dropping?
I have had several Regular Savings Accounts on the go at the same time and gradually the ones for 4% and upwards are all coming to an end. Since base rate has been fixed on 0.5% for a long time, why are the rates for savers continuing to decline?

Yorkshire BS cutting savings rates
I received an email from YBS yesterday to say they are cutting rates on 4th March; of particular interest to me is that the Easy Access Internet Saver will drop from 2.1% to 1.65%. I think this used to be in the best buy list but isn't there now (the email suggests that the rate was lower anyway for new accounts from…

Pension thoughts?
Evening all, Wondering if I could have your thoughts on my pension. I pay into a company defined contribution scheme @ 7% of my salary, matched by 14% by my company (been paying into this for 10 years, ranged from 5.5%-7%). I have another small lump sum from an old pension, literally ~10k. I don't have a SIPP. Was…

Where is Pound £ heading?
I thought Euro was going down the pan and $ will follow it but now £ is almost equal to Euro, where will this stop. We do not have oil nor manufacturing industry, on top of every thing we have dodgy Banking. Good ROI on secure capital investment
Please excuse my ignorance - I know there are a lot of factors to consider I've looked around at saving accounts which suggest 2-3% is achievable but I'm trying to get a better idea of other investment options on zero/low risk investments I'm not looking to invest any time, just money - potentially between 10k and 100k…

Stock Split for a US Share held in My HL ISA - will I have to do anything?
Hi all, Just seen that a stock that I hold is going through a stock split. It's a US stock in my Hargreaves Lansdown Vantage ISA. It also says "In lieu of fractional shares, shareholders will receive a cash payment based on the closing market price" Do I have to do anything, or does it all happen automagically?

Eurobank
OK maybe it does sound like a dodgy name for a bank, I don't know why, but has anyone got an account open with them? I have seen this bank next to Fulham Broadway Station but when I search for them on the internet it only gives me a central London head office location. I basically need to open an account so I can send…

Hi all, Not sure if this is the right sub-forum for this as it is my first post! My mother asked me to open a savings account for her and put myself down as a joint account holder. I wanted to open a Post Office savings account, so I filled out the online application and she provided the cheque to open the account (several…
