Introductory Interest Rate
Are banks legally bound to inform you when an introductory rate has dropped after the first year? I have an online account with Saga taken out in October last year and I haven't heard from them yet.

Shares - Do your own research question? How?
Ok guys and girls….iv dealt in shares in the past but iv only really looked at 1 or 2. 1 which iv followed for about 13 years so know the patterns very well and 1 or 2 low aim companies who have been tipped. My question to all the share traders is what do you do when you hear of a share to invest in? * How do you go about…

A bit of help with the Halifax Reward current account please.
Hi, I'm sure that it's on here somewhere but I'm cross eyed from looking! I am thinking about opening a Halifax Reward current account but I see that you have to use their switching team. Is there a way round this? Is it best to open on line or in the branch? TIA Dx

Savings calculator
Hello folks. Is there an open source (or for pay) calculator that could calculate what amount of money you would have now if you had invested say £50-/m over the last 10 years for example (i.e. over a past previous period of time i.e. retrospectively)? This calculator should automatically take into account the varying…

Santander First Home Saver interest issue
Hi there! I received notice of my First Home Saver interest amount today (paid in July for anniversary of opening) and it is not as much as I expected. I feel I'm not too bad at working out interest, and worked out interest in advance for relatives for the same account within £2 of the actual amount so to find out I…

Should we be told?
I have just found out that in order to use the Nationwide MySave account you have to pay your money directly into a Barclays bank a/c which is set up by Nationwide to receive payments from non Nationwide savers as they are not a clearing bank. The same is true of the West Bromwich Websave account as well as possibly some…

Lloyds Cash ISA trick
This is a FYI thread. On Saturday I went into a Lloyds bank branch to close & withdraw just over £11k from a cash ISA. When the advisor drew up the final amount including interest from April, I was shocked to find out the low amount of interest to be paid up (just over £50). I was in a hurry as I needed to quickly move the…

Earn 9.18% interest with £1000?
:AA novice...Please be considerate...:o Halifax Reward current account gives £5 for £1000 or more remitted per month(£60 for 1 year for £1000 or more----ie 6% interest for £1000). Halifax doesn't specify any minimum balance. So if I shift(standing order) that £1000 next day to Derbyshire BS savings account with 3.18%, can…
