Can some-one help me with this loan please
I owe £4850 to the co-op on a 5 yr loan ( just under 3 years to go). Interest is 1/2 yearly and was added on 2nd Feb. If I pay it off now I incur some extra interest, probably a couple of months I think. I was thinking that if I put the money to pay it off in an ISA (A&L) or internet savings account (A&L) now until just…

"Rainy Day" accounts - worth it?
Hi there, I have seen some banks offering 'rainy day' accounts, with a max monthly pay-in limit of e.g. £250, and a certain amount of fix (e.g. 1 year). Does anyone use these/what are the benefits over a regular savings account? I'm trying to evalute my savings (currently split between an ING ISA (maxed out for 08/09), A&L…

Corporate bond investors beware !
Sounds great doesn't it...10-15 percent return on your Barclays A rated 9% corporate bonds . There is a catch however which the investor websites do not make clear. This and other corporate bonds have the 'small print'. In the case of the above bond, the catch is that if Barclays pay no dividend on their shares in a…

Can You buy shares in the FTSE as a whole
This might be a silly question. You can buy shares in companies that are in the FTSE, but can you buy shares in the FTSE itself hoping for the number of points to increase ?

Share Tips for FTSE 100
Thinking about building a FTSE 100 portfolio and looking for share tips. Some big dips in the major share prices and looking to buy for big gains in the next few years. May add to this monthly to smooth out any ups and downs. I currently like the look of British Airways, British Aerospace and BP. Which look cheap. Any tips…

Tesco saving clubcard points to be given in May
I've just rang Tescos clubcard expecting my 3000 points in my February statement but they've said there is a delay on promotional points and I won't receive them until May. Anyone else who opened the savings account in November got the same problem?

Tesco Internet Account.
The deal was that Clubcard points would be given for accounts opened before November 12 based on cleared balance on December 31. The points were supposed to be available in February statement. I haven't had mine. Anybody else not had theirs either?

Cash Or Property
Long story, but my brother and I did very badly out of my mum's will, not that she did it on purpose. One factor was that although my mum left her half of the flat that she lived in with her sister Ada to John (my brother), and I, she put in a clause saying that Ada should stay in the flat till she died. Ada has two…

Is it time to spend,spend,spend.
Lets face it, its a crap time for savers. Searching around for an axtra 0.5% here and there. A return to 7% savings rate is years off, if ever. The stock market i read a story today by three senior economists that there's only a 50% chance shares will hit 6,000 by 2019, and may yet fall to 3,000. Unemployment on the rise,…
