CHAPS/Chelsea Building Society
Hi, Got a fixed rate coming to its end soon, i want to CHAPS it out of the Chelsea? Nothing looks appealing at the moment, so best move it else where. Has anyone CHAPS out of the Chelsea, cannot find any literature on their website. Can they refuse to CHAPS, or is there a facility to CHAPS at what cost? Cheers.

£40,000 commission?
I went to see an IFA today concerning a 1.3M inheritance. He showed me some quotes for a Norwich with profit bond and a guaranteed fund with legal and general. Anyway, looking at the back page i worked out the advisor will be getting £40k approx plus an amount each year. We talked about fees, he said unless I want to be…

Northern Rock website
I usually hate threads about website faults, but I have tried at least six times this evening to make a deposit to my NR internet account. I get to the "make a deposit" button, and then nothing happens. I get a screen telling me the various ways of making a deposit but no way of progressing one. I have tried relaying this…

Which e-ISA? - fixed or variable
Which would you go for? I have two ISA decisions to make: 1. Using up this year's allowance of £3,600 2. £50k saftey limit or should we worry?
Given that to date the Government has bailed out anyone unlucky enough to have savings with a bank or BS that has got into difficulty do we really have to worry about sticking to the £50,000 per person with an institution? The reason that I ask is that it is getting difficult to find a decent home for ones savings that…

Egg Fixed Rate Bond - Not Showing Up (Unavailable/Error)
Hey guys, I opened a Fixed Rate Bond last month with Egg. All was fine and dandy until last week I checked on it - the Savings account I had to open to get the Fixed Rate Bond looks OK, but the Fixed Rate Bond itself - all details showing as "unavailable" and the bit that should say "view" instead says "error". A message…

Britannia Reductions
Most Britannia BS accounts have been reduced by the straight 1.5%. The Direct Saver Reserve now pays 4.5% including six month bonus. Some regular savings accounts have gone down by less - but mainly because they weren't paying much more that 1.5% excl. bonus anyway. The Easy Saver is definitely one to avoid - EASYSAVER:…
