I notice that the FTSE is trading at 1998 levels. Does this mean that despite all the doom and gloom, investing in shares now, is on balance a sensible idea?

Do I qualify to invest in an ISA?
I had an ISA a few years ago before withdrawing all of the money. However I didn't formally close the account. With no money in the account, but it still open, does it mean I have already invested this tax year or can I open a new account? Thanks

Abbey ISA
I am wondering if the new Abbey ISA at 10% fixed for 13 months plus putting the same amount into a growth plan paying up to 18% is a wise move/investment. Not seen Martin mention it as a wise buy. Anyone advise me if it is worth doing? Beadlow8

I decided then to try to put things right, I'm a low-end tax payer with savings of £67000.…

I saw the quote that smart money was in gold but smartest money was in silver.…
