John Lewis - excellent service again
I bought some china mugs to collect instore yesterday. When I got home and opened the box, half of them were smashed. I rang CS at 5.50pm last evening and the replacements arrived at my front door about 10 minutes ago. I know it was their fault but their speedy rectification of the problem made me happy. :T

Tesco Playing God
Try and buy Branston tinned products at Tesco and you will be disappointed. Tesco are now boycotting all Branston products from Princes Foods. The only Branston product they now stock is Branston Pickle made by Mizkan Foods. I can't find Branston Ketchup in any of the Tesco Stores I have visited. So much for customer…

The Range misleading customers
.. Just beware when you buy anything from "The Range" that their 30 day return policy does not cover everything. What the exclusions are is a mystery as there are no signs instore and no advice when paying for your items. The fun starts when you try and take back the item only to be told the returns policy doesnt…

Dealcloud & UKCJS.com WORRY!
I don't normally buy from 'deal' websites (apart from a haircut once, that was good) but I saw a deal for one of those turtle night sky night lights on dealcloud for £10. Christmas is coming, thought it might be nice for the baby. So I bought it, paid through PayPal, tried the code on the merchants site (ukcjs.com) and it…

Europcar VENT

AVOID - Footlocker
Bought some £100+ trainers from there for young son. Within 3 weeks of casual wearing (odd times at weekends) the seams were splitting on both shoes. Took back to Lakeside store. Two members of staff refused refund saying it was "wear and tear". Complained to their head office. Told I would receive a response. Didn't…

Grrr - Car Park - What Would you Do?
I've had my flat for four years. There is a small car park specifically for the block and a larger car park for the development as a whole. The block-specific car park only has three spaces for 12 flats. These are filled on a first come first served basis. If on any day I can't find a space I simply park in the larger car…

I used to order a lot of electroinc items from Maplins in the '80 and it would be with me in a couple of days. But the item I ordered last Monday was not dispatched until Wednesday and won't, according to Yodal, be delivered until next Monday. Pity they used to be a company.

Oak Furnitureland
I don't like the ads -- a bit cheesy -- but went for a browse for some new bedroom furniture. Cheapish furniture has moved a long way from MFI and their MDF tat. The oak furniture is pretty good. Amazingly, ordered without fuss or being pressured to buy extras, delivered on time in the notified time slot, pre-delivery…

Counterfeit £2 coins
Probably not the right place to put it, but I was annoyed today to find a counterfeit £2 coin in my purse. My son noticed it because it's magnetic, and when I accidentally dropped it on the floor it fell apart. It's made from a 2p coin with the back of the £2 coin on it, and the front and sides is pressed so it all fits…
