401(k) and UFPLS
I am retired UK citizen and resident. I file my income to HMRC by self assessment. I used to be long time resident of USA and built up retirement savings in a 401(k) from which I withdraw lump sums when I need the income, transferring the cash to the UK as income. Can rules of UFPLS be applied in UK to my 401(k) lump sums…

IFA Advises Pension Move to True Potential : Thoughts Please?
My IFA wants me to move my pension and ISA from AVIVA to True Potential. Apparently this move won't incur any charges. I guess my IFA would get a commission for this move, but what would be the Pros and Cons for me? And has anyone dealt with True Potential themselves and have any good/bad feedback. Thanks

Lump Sum
Hi, looking for some advice. I have a very small pension pot worth less than £2,000 as a lump sum when I turn 55 in a couple of months and was thinking of simply cashing it in as I already have two decent Occ pots. My question is, I was made bankrupt in early 2000s, being discharged in 2007, so there is nothing on my…

Section 32 buy out policy question
I have a section 32 buy out policy, transfer value about £70K with a protected GMP pension of about £1,1000 at NRD which is 2021. I had thought about transferring it just to rationalise my pensions to another SIPP but advisers want a relative fortune to advise on transfer, so I thought again about just keeping it until NRD…

Struggling with Hargreaves Lansdown - should I try PensionBee?
So I've had a 'traditional' pension with Standard Life for 20 years that I felt I was paying too much for so I moved to Hargreaves Lansdown but happy to admit I haven't got a clue what I'm doing :( If I look at their manage funds they're even more expensive than my old pension so I'm wondering whether PensionBee is worth…

AVCs Now Seem Rash - Words of Wisdom Required
Two years ago I landed my dream job and expected it to last me through to retirement. Utilising salary sacrifice I managed to divert over £50k to the pension pot in AVCs so that I could build it up whilst maintaining a good standard of living. 20months later and Covid-19 arrived and soon after the middle management cull…

Pension Cashflow Retirement Planner - Key Info?
Hi, This was raised by my FA in my thread on drawdown. He has provided what he calls ‘a quick and dirty cashflow projection”, and also concedes it’s just a start. But he has based his warning of running out of cash on it. From what I can see, he has used real return of 1% throughout based on 2% inflation throughout,…

I'm in my early 40s and have never really planned for my retirement as just getting by month to month was hard enough. But I have 3 different small pension pots from various jobs throughout the years.
