Incorrect contribution percentage's effect on forecasts
Good morning Please could you help me to understand how the following issue will affect my pension forecast. I have a group stakeholder pension and I contribute employee's 3% and my employer also contributes 3%. These are usual percentages. Additionally I make salary sacrifice contributions of several hundred pounds. These…

Salary sacrifice and NI contribution question
Was reading an article the other day explaining the different methods for contributing to a pension and they mentioned a net pay method where a contribution is made before tax is taken out which provides tax relief because you're overall salary is lower. Then I started reading about salary sacrifice which sounds identical…

Lighthouse Group Financial Solutions
My partner is organising retirement options and pensions. The union, ASCL, has a 'partner' Lighthouse Group. Are these people simply selling their annuities or are they genuinely offering impartial advice for the retiring teacher with their 'free' first consultation?

impossible to find FA for DB transfer
It is impossible to find a FA to transfer my £36k LGPS DB pension to a DC so I can take it out as a lump sum. 1st they are paranoid about getting sued in the future, 2nd they feel the risk to high for anything under £100k & 3rd if they find you to be an insistent client they up their fee so in effect they are scamming you…

Pension question
Hi, Just wondered if anyone can help I currently have a government work place pension with NEST. With 1% put in by myself and my employer. can't find the policy!
Are insurers obliged to give you details of policies which you hold with them? Just had a letter from the Pru asking me to confirm that I am who I am and live where I live. I also had to provide my policy number, but I just can't find anything with the Prudential name on it, though I did take out an endowment with them in…

Tax free lump sum seems too much.
I've got a Defined Benefit and Defined Contributions pension with the same company. I've just retired and have had a list of options from the company running the schemes (Capita). The DB element will be taken as a monthly pension. Regarding the DC element, I have been given the option of taking a tax free lump sum (PCLS)…

How would someone on minimum wage be able to make their pension contribution?
I have read on the .gov site that after a company's staging date, any employee earning 10k annually must be enrolled and must contribute. However, salary sacrifice can't take someone's cash pay below minimum wage. How is this possible and how will those on NMW be able to contribute?

Small NI stamp
I have paid national insurance since I was 16. For a few years I paid the small married women's stamp and do not receive the full state pension because of this. I feel this is very unfair as I get around £40 less a week than the full state pension. Is this correct or should I be getting full state pension. Have been…

Hi, It's my first time posting - I'm stuck and I'm hoping someone with more experience can help. I've inherited an annuity which will be paid monthly into my account for another couple of years.
