What is the best thing to do with my freestanding AVC"s
I have £28K in freestanding AVC's. I've had a little google around and looked at pension-wise and have come to the conclusion that I would be best to invest this money in a SIPP with Best Invest after taking a 25% tax-free lump sum. Would you agree? If not what would you suggest?

Qualified earnings - but what happens when you get a pay rise?
Please can someone advise? I am in a "qualified earnings" pension. I was never sent any details about it so didn't know it was a QE scheme. Some years on now, and as I have moved up the company, my pay now exceeds that QE banding. But the pension payments from my company have just stayed static and within the banding. And…

Carry forward ?
I would like to use carry forward to make additional SIPP contributions above the £40k annual allowance. Do I need to notify HMRC of this? Gross earning estimated £50k, with DB pension (NHS) benefits estimated to be £16k for 2017/18 and similar for previous years. The SIPP has been for 2017/18 only and so no contributions…

Lifetime allowance usage calculations
When calculating the LTA usage, I understand that there are crystallisation events, including one at age 75. My question is whether investment gains on a drawdown pot between retirement (say age 60) and 75 always count towards the LTA or whether they only count if you don’t draw them down. Let’s say you had £800k at age 60…

Company SIPP (limited fund choice) v Personal SIPP
My pension contributions deducted from salary are invested in an L&G SIPP in which platform fee's are covered by company, I just pay the fund fee's. This is saving me ~0.3% per annum. There has been a reduction in the number of funds that are available to me recently which is making it more challenging to align with the…

Reducing tax by putting money into SIPP
I will try to keep this simple. I am a 40% tax payer and I was moaning I pay too much tax (friend said easy, just put lump sum into your SIPP). My issue is I don’t really understand pensions.
