My husband and I are quite confused regarding something we have heard and wondered if any one was able to help? My husband has paid into his pension for 40 years, is it correct that any further payments into the same pension will not increase the pension fund pot? Thanks

Trivial Pension but have other company pensions
Hi, My partner has just received a quote from Aegon for a small pension pot of £1094, one option was to take it as a Trivial Pension. The problem is she already receives an NHS pension of just over £7K that X 20 takes her over the £18K limit. Have been listening to Money Box live and they talked about a £2k limit what rule…

Salary sacrifice after public sector pension changes in April?
When a public sector final salary scheme changes to a career average scheme (as some are in April) does an existing salary sacrifice become a disadvantage as you are reducing pensionable pay? I don't do SS myself but am curious.

Pensions are very risky?
Hi I've dug out my paperwork for my stakeholder pension. I am a pension newbie, and I don't understand enough of this to properly digest the paperwork, but I am learning. From the bits that I have read, it seems to me that all pensions are bad and risky. I used to think that pensions were safe and secure and could…

£17690 pension pot
My friend has a pension pot of £17690 and will take her pension at age 55 in May. A leaflet she was sent says that if her total pension is less than £18K and she's over 60, or in some other circumstances, she may be able to take it all as a lump sum. She would much prefer to do this. Obviously she's under 60, but is in…

State Pension - EU Member
Hello there. I'm not sure if this is in the correct place, but I thought I would ask anyway. I'm a German national, but I have lived and worked in the UK for 12 years. Therefore I have paid income tax and National Insurance for that period. I'm due to leave the UK (for the US) for a few years with work so I'm trying to…
