Pension with Legal & General - query.
There is a report in today's Daily Telegraph that L & G shares have dropped sharply today. I have a pension with L & G that matures in a couple of years time. If the company were to go bust, what would happen to my pension? Any help (hopefully in the form of reassurance :rolleyes: ) appreciated.

When do the DWP tell you when you will receive your first pension. I turn 65 in two weeks and they have told me how much I will get but they did not tell me when my first and subsequent payments would be made.

I was just about to commence payments into a pension fund. With the market currently how it is, would I be foolish to start now? Or, the fact that the market is depressed mean that there are relatively short term gains to be made?? can i get tax relief on the cash saved under my matress?

Occupational pension query.
When I left work I had accured an OP of about £6K per annum or £115 per week which I can take at 50 yrs old. What I'm not sure about is, is that if I take my OP at 50 will I get £115 per week (not counting any rises etc due to inflation etc) for the rest of my life?

My husband worked and paid into a company pension for 21 years, (paying AVCs also) before being made redundant 5 years ago.
