Deferring the State Pension - a good idea or not? (Merged)
I have searched the site but I am unable to find any advice as to whether it is financially sensible to defer taking the State Pension for, say 5 years, or whether it is better to collect the pension and put it in a high interest savings account? Which would give the better return, assuming I last another 15 - 20 years? I…

A question unlikely to be asked by government
[in any 'consultation', that is] Should the new 'personal accounts' (aka 'National Pension Saving Scheme' aka 'Britsaver') be exempt from the requirement to convert the fund to a pension by 75 (aka ''compulsory annuitisation'') I ask this for various reasons: - they weren't/aren't in Australia and NZ where the idea is…

Sunday Times The Revenue has won a ruling that tightens up the number of days you can spend in the UK while maintaining non-resident status. Compensation for Lost Pensions
I've been watching the media coverage of the Farepak fiasco with interest. So much publicity and compassion and people and MP's willing to give money. However I compare this with our situation in which my husband has lost the pension he contributed to for over 20 years (and was expecting a pension of approx £35K at age 62)…
