He does not work but has a pension from work. I am wondering whether I should move his savings into my account so that he does not go above the 20K.…

Pension Credit and Tsx
Hi, A friend received £107.00 state pension and £7.00 pension credit which brought her up to the £114.00 government pension level. She was then taxed on this which dropped her below the £114.00. I always thought the £114.00 was the pensioners level of income. Is this normal? She phoned the pension service to see if her…

This is Money The gross disparity between the future pensions of those in the public sector and those in the private sector is widening rapidly every year. When will the backlash begin? :T MSE readers may remember the shocking case of the poster whose pension fund of around 100k had been passed without his consent to a group of crooks by his provider, Zurich, and whose case had been left languishing by all the people who are supposed to help  It now seems that following intervention by MSE poster…

One week over refund deadline!
My boyfriend is leaving the police force and his official leaving date is two years and one week after he started contributing to his pension. As the cut-off point is two years, this means he is not entitled to a refund of his contributions but a deferred pension instead. Is there any way he can get at this money now? Or…

Hoping someone here can help discuss the pros and cons of this. Basically my wife has just been offered the choice of 2 pensions with her work. The company will match from 3-5% that she puts in. Should I take lump sum from pension or not?
I'm due to retire early next year and have two choices from an small works pension. Option one, I can take a tax-free lump sum of between £0 and £11500.00 and a yearly pension of about £1700.00 if I take the max lump sum. The other option is to get the full pension of £2600.00 per year. In both cases my spouse would…

Hi all, I am very new to this chat business. I always read Martins advice and one tip was to use the "Will Aid Scheme" during November to make your will. Company closure

30 years National Insurance..Dont pay more
I understand that anyone whose date for getting a pension is after April 6 2010 only needs to have made 30 years of NI payments instead of the present 44years for men and 39 years for women. This means that those who are self employed or making voluntary NI payments could pay too many years in. Anyone making back payments…
