SORN status?????
I transferred the insurance from a 4x4 that I didn't require to be on the road, approx. May 17 (MOT valid Nov and Tax till Dec). I disposed of a car Oct 17 and transferred the insurance policy to the 4x4 and MOT'd it last week. On checking Gov site the 4x4 is showing as SORN (due to tax by the look of things) but the tax…

DVLA Unlicensed Vehicle £160 Surety - Refusal to Refund
My vehicle was clamped for being unlicensed recently - my fault. I paid £100 to get it unclamped and £160 as surety so as to go and get it taxed. The £160 would then be returned to me by the clampers, Redcorn Ltd, if I did so within 15 days. The car needed an MOT so it had to go in for some work first. Then it got its MOT…

Problem with used PCP purchase before collection.
Hi, I purchased a used car on PCP last week. I haven't collected it yet; collection was arranged for this afternoon. I called an hour ago to check everything is okay, only to be told it isn't. The SD card for the medianav system is missing. This is a fairly substantial problem because of how many of the car's features are…

Supermarket fuel v the rest
I'm sure this has been asked before - apologies. OH is adamant that supermarket diesel is poor quality and bad for the engine. More than that, he prefers to use the 'premium' variety, even at the non-supermarket filling stations. Personally I'd be happy enough to use the supermarket stuff mostly because it's a lot cheaper…

Arghh. Curbed alloy on brand new car.
Long shot here. I've curbed one of the wheels on my brand new car. Looking around, it seems that there are a lot of firms out there that can refurbish it. I'm looking for a recommendation on the east London/Essex border. Thanks

Am I missing something about this finance plan?
Hi, I've started up as a self-employed carpenter/odd-jobs type person, and have let several jobs go due to not having a van yet. I'm partly waiting to hit the turn-around point on my current car lease (next 2/3 months should get me there), but also I've been trying to get my head around the best way to finance it, as my…
