Damaged lease car! Help!
Hi everyone My 2 year personal Skoda car lease (that is contract hire, not hire purchase) is coming to an end in July. I spent the last 2 years stupidly thinking that VW Finance insured their car for minor damage, just like any car hire company would do. Turns out they don't (or at least they don't admit they do). So, the…

Buying in 3rd year
Hi all, Apologies for asking a stupid question, I am looking to purchase a Fiesta, it's a 14 plate and the first MOT is due April 2018. It isn't from a Ford main dealer but a reputable car supermarket garage. It comes with 3 months warranty, does anyone know if it should still come with a Ford warranty? Secondly, The MOT…

Moving house just after insurance bought
Thanks in advance for any help with this. My car insurance is due for renewal first week of July. We're moving from Buckinghamshire to Mersey at the end of July. My annual insurance premium is in the £800-1200 range. If I take out insurance on the renewal date, I'll have to pay the charges for altering the address only a…

Chevrolet in the UK - any issues?
Considering a bargain basement Chevrolet like a Lacetti or Kalos (or the newer one whateevr its called). As there are no longer main dealers, does this create a problem for things such as spare keys, body panels? Anyone own one who can answer this? Also do you know who makes the engines; they look like Vauxhall/GM engines…

Replacing windscreen
I've noticed a crack in my windscreen. I don't know how long it's been there. It's very low down (just above the black dots at the bottom on the windscreen) and didn't look like a crack from the outside. There's a stone chip in the corner with a line running across that looks more like a scratch or mark than a "proper"…

Getting someone else (contracting) someone else to buy a car on my behalf
The car buying process seems fraught with problems - what ever aspect you look into, there seems to be subtle issues that can catch out the most guarded of people. I was just looking at HPI checking and discovering there are so many companies providing the service, many of very limited value. About 20+ years ago I did use…

3 series...or something else?
I am starting to think very seriously about a new car. Budget up to 10k, maybe a little more at a push. This is orders of magnitude more than I have ever spent on a car so is somewhat uncharted territory for me. I do 20k a year so fuel economy is high on the agenda. Other criteria are: auto Cruise fast - max 0-60 in 8 max,…

What are those things called that make you overtake a parked vehicle wider?
Driven down a few narrow streets lately and seen a few parked vehicles with a red and white triangle that is attached to either the drivers or passengers door. The said triangle protrudes into the road so that when you are passing the stationary vehicle it makes you go round it slightly wider. They are also reflective so…
