New build price changes?
We are going to look at several developments on Saturday. We have an AIP and are selling our house, we’ve never bought a new build. We were looking at ready-made plots... however we’ve now seen that the original listings have been removed and they’ve been relisted with the price increased by c.30k?! Anyone got any advice…

Fixed deal ending soon but relocating later this year
The current fixed deal on my mortgage is expiring in August. I have accepted an overseas job offer and plan on relocating sometime in Q3/4. My wife and I would like to keep the house as a buy to let while we are away — ideally with a view to holding it as a long-term bet on the U.K. property market. Our mortgage advisor…

Best way as an over 60 to buy out an ex-partner
I'm new to this site, and I hope my question is appropriate for here. I own a house outright with my ex-partner. What's my best option to buy them out? I'm over 60 (still in full time employment) and I thought a Later Life mortgage would be an option , but the building society I contacted said they couldn't offer that…

Incorrect moneysupermarket mortgage rates - be wary
Has anyone noticed discrepancies in mortgage rates offered on moneysupermarket lately? I'm in the midst of remortgaging, and so I've been checking mortgage rates daily on MSE, Moneysupermarket and Comparethemarket. Not all comparison sites cover all lenders, so it was helpful to see the differences. If you're interested,…

5% Mortgages been reduced due to Covid
Good Morning. I had a mortgage in principle sorted before the lockdown based on a 5% deposit. Natwest have now said they have pulled these 5% deals and you need at least 20-40% deposit. Are there still 5% deals out there to be had at competitive rates or shall I wait until banks release these lower deposit mortgages again?…

Fixed deal running out but less than £10k to pay
When our mortgage deal finishes, we’ll owe £25k, but should be in a position to pay off £15k of this (without penalties). Will we be able to get a new mortgage deal for a year to pay off the rest of the mortgage (£10k)? Or will we need to switch to the SVR? Or will we not be able to get a mortgage and need to get a loan…

Valuation advice needed please
Are mortgage companies doing valuations and taking into account the impending house price drops or are they valuing properties as they would be now? We have a property valuation on hold as I don’t want to get it done soon then for the property prices to drop. Any advice would be appreciated.

Bridge the gap on £1m home, quickly.
I've found a very clichéd 'perfect house' that is on the market for just less than £1m. This type of house comes up for sale very rarely in the area I'm looking, and I've been looking for a few years. We have £238k of equity in our current house (valued at £560k in 2018), and £200k in savings. The EA of the house we are…

Halifax - contacting their senior management?
Hi Forum, I wish to dispute a mortgage for a family member (they are elderly and I am taking up the matter for them), held with Halifax.
