FTB/New Build - Minimum deposit
Any idea what the lenders think of new builds and maximum LTV's. Is a 90% mortgage unheard of with a new build? (the development in question has been worked on for the past 5 years - house prices have increased from when they were purchased so negative equity doesn't appear to be an issue.)

Hi :) Paid off our mortgage in May 2009 on which we had payment protection. Would we be "chancing our arm" if we tried to claim this as missold as I did not require it as I would have been paid if I became ill and I also had long term health issues that may have prevented pay out any way. Also we later found out that it…

mortgage protection payment insurance - thoughts?
Hi all, We're in the process of buying our first house and are seeing the mortgage advisor on Thursday to start the application. I know that she's going to try and 'sell' us something else, and I suspect that will be MPPI - I've read that mortgage lenders are often not the best people to take this out with, and so it's…

Buildings Insurance for Leasehold Flat
The Post Office have recently approved my mortgage application to buy a leashold flat, however as one of the conditions they have stated that the buildings need to be insured in my name with them as a joint policyholder. On a leasehold property isn't it usual for the buildings to be insured by the freeholder? As the…
