Obtaining a mortgage
My partner and I are looking at buying a house together. He already has a mortgage and I don't. We both have had 1/2 missed payments on credit accounts within the last year. Does this mean we will not be able to get a mortgage at all? Are there some lenders willing to lend?

Valuation survey
Just had the valuation survey back from the mortgage company. The property I'm buying was originally on at £220,000, then reduced to £210,000 and my offer of £200,000 was accepted. The valuation survey shows a value of £200,000. I'm surprised this has come back with a figure at exactly the purchase price. Is this normal?…

what fix is worth doing if your overpaying
I only ask as I stupidly fixed 3 years ago for 5 years on a 6.99% rate. I started overpaying last Decemeber and I am now in a position where I am at 71-73% but it just made me think that I should be factoring in how much I will be overpaying into what sort of fix I opt for. hope that makes sense! lol

Nationwide overpayment drawdowns - a grumble
Hi all, I'd be interested in opinions on this. When I took out my Nationwide mortgage a few years ago, their advisor explained the 'flexibility' aspect, particularly regarding the overpayment reserve fund, and how the customer was able to make a drawdown at any time. It was explained that I should think of the reserve fund…
