Mortgage brokers - Northern Rock question
I have a NR mortgage on a flat in London which is fixed and expires 10/10. Two and a half years ago I accepted a job in another part of the country but wanted to hang on to the flat as my preference would be to return to London eventually. So I obtained a consent to let from NR for £250.00 and rented the flat out. Ok, so…

Carrying negative equity to new mortgage

FTB question
I looked at natwest and there is a deal for 5.69 fixed 2 year. If I got this loan it would cost me roughly 688 a month. If it goes to 8% then it will cost me 849 a month. Is this a reasonable price to pay a month or am I stretching my costs? It does scare me a bit if the rates do rise to 8%. ( It is for a 3 bed semi det…

Mortgage Advice!
I'm after some mortgage advice. As a FTB, I was looking at the potential mortgage options available and have only been given effectively two options from a recommended broker; a fixed rate (4year) at 6.99% which requires a 15% deposit and a variable (SVR) at 4.9% which requires a 20% deposit. I am trying to weigh up the…

If I move house, do I still have to prove income on existing m/gage?
I'm in quite a good situation; our house is worth something like £150k, the mortgage (endowment) is for £45k and we've overpaid (Nationwide flexible) to the point that the current outstanding amount is around £6k. Happy days so far :) We are contemplating a move, a sort of get-away-from-it-all kind of thing, but that may…
