If I move house, do I still have to prove income on existing m/gage?

I'm in quite a good situation; our house is worth something like £150k, the mortgage (endowment) is for £45k and we've overpaid (Nationwide flexible) to the point that the current outstanding amount is around £6k. Happy days so far :)

We are contemplating a move, a sort of get-away-from-it-all kind of thing, but that may require us to draw down some of the overpayment amount.

Although this doesn't actually increase the amount of the current mortgage, would we be required to answer questions regarding employment/income etc?

This is relevant because 1) since taking out the original mortgage we have become self employed and are making very very little at the moment, and 2) if we were to move out to the sticks it might take some time to find work of any kind.

I'm not out to be dishonest with the lenders, and FWIW our credit records are flawless.

Hope this makes sense!
