Should I go with the Halifax deal?
Hi, this is my first post, though I've been reading/lurking on these forums for a while... Basically, just wanting some advice - I have a mortgage of 105000, and I come off my two-year fixed deal (5.24%) with the Halifax at the end of this month, and revert to SVR, so save about £150 a month while I'm on it. However with…

Co-op Mortgage Con - Avoid them
We applied for a co-op mortgage in late Feb 2009 through one of their brokers after having been recommended by the developer of a housing scheme. They were recommended because they could get us 100% and we only had a small deposit, and the interest rates were good too. The broker looked at our finances, he knew about our…

How to Beat the Bank (Hopefully)
This seems too simple to work so let me run it by you and you can tell me if it's me that's too simple and not the plan. Due to years of overpayment, I have a small mortgage (£15,000) which still has 19 years left to run. The interest rate is base rate + 0.55% (so currently 1.05%). The mortgage allows me to borrow back the…

Hi All, I have just went on to Halifa SVR and I am saving approx £150 per month, I don't intend to come of SVR till the house prices start to rise again and they will, then my LTV will be healthier so I can look for a better deal. Is this a smart idea? would like to hear positives / negatives. Regards, Stuart.

Hi On my search for purchasing a property first time i've come across a masionette which has the title of 'share of freehold' and another groundfloor masionette which has the title 'freehold'.
