Income Ver
Ok all, I have a £100k mortgage fixed at 4.99%, which ends in September approx. House is worth appox £225000. Looking at HSBC deal of 3.99% for 3 yrs with a £699 booking fee. All seems good. Do they do a non-income verification as its such a low LTV. Want it to go through very quickly, and while my income is easy enough to…

5.84% SVR for a further advance on mortgage - we 'don't qualify' for anything else!
We want to borrow another 25k for home improvements. Have lots of equity in property so borrowing been approved no prob. WestBrom will only give us the extra £25k at 5.84% variable. The first part of our mortgage (approx £190,000) is currently tracking BofE base rate +.99% - which we are overpaying madly while we can.…

Am I mad to consider an offset tracket, +1.99%
I'm about to move house. I currently have a small (see my sig) Woolwich mortgage at +0.18%, which I hope to port to the new property. I will need to take out an additional £200,000 mortgage (give or take). I was originally planning to take a fixed rate - I know it will need to be with Woolwich if I want to keep the cheap…

Commercial Mortgage for Auction Property
I have recently purchased a property through auction and wondered if you can get a commercial mortgage to pay for this? I can't get a buy-to-let mortgage as the property has a sitting tenant - a regulated tenancy, so they can live there for life. Any advice, greatly appreciated

Worried my mortgage is going to be refused
Hi all Don't know if anyone can give any advice, but I'm just fretting at the minute! We're trying to get a mortgage using two streams of income - my main job (which is fine) and an income from dividends (which is causing a problem). We've applied for the fixed rate Alliance and Leicester deal and they've ok'd everything…

Mortgage for a Plot?
We've got approx 70k and need a further 60k to buy a plot of land with outline planning permission granted. In years to come we hope to build a holiday home on the plot. On our main house we have a 186k mortgage on a property worth approx 300k. Our lenders (Bristol and West) won't re-mortgage as we are already above their…

Extending mortgage - is this a rubbish offer from the BSoc?
We were hoping to extend our mortgage by £25k for work to our house and garden. The extra borrowing has been approved no problem as we have over £200k equity in the property. However, the best the West Brom will offer us on the extra borrowing is 5.84% variable. The rest of our mortage is currently tracking the BofE base…

Question about which mortgage?
This is a hypothetical question, just thinking out loud... Say I can lay my hands on £50k for a deposit on a house which is worth £100k, and still have 20k in a isa, for emergencies etc. I get 1.8k pm, so could easily pay off a fixed rate, tracker mortgage over 20 years. But would a off set mortgage be any good. I'm…

Getting a mortgage on a new build
Would there be any problems with getting a mortgage on a new build? As when we will complete there will only be very basic foundations done as the property isnt due to complete until Nov time. The property is £155k and we would need to borrow £40k as we have the rest as a deposit. Thanks

A question on First Time Buyer Deposit required.
Hi It looks like I'll have to put down 10% to buy a home. I'll be a first time buyer. I'm finding it difficult to get that extra 1 to 2 thousand pounds to hit that 10% mark (ltv 90%). Do some banks show some flexibilty or do I have to put down a n exact 10% deposit ? thanks

Property unmortgageable due to regulated tenancy
Please can anyone offer me some advice. I bought a property at auction, which has a regulated tenancy, which means the tenant has the right to live there for life. I applied for a buy to let mortgage. I got an agreement in principle, subject to survey. The mortgage company knew the situation with the tenancy and said this…

Which mortgage deal?
Hi all, I've got a mortgage approved with the Co-operative bank and the survey is paid for and being done this week. The…

End of fixed rate
Hi Please excuse me. I don't know loads about mortgages, but I'm currently trying to investigate my options and I wondered what other people's opinions might be (not 'advice' ;-)). I've recently come to the end of my 5 year fixed rate with Woolwich which was at 4.99% and gone onto their SVR also at 4.99% at the moment. I'd…

Hsbc 3.99% fixed rate
My o/h just told me that he has got the new rates and the 3.99% is being withdrawn so anyone looking at this deal better decide fast, the date for the change is 14th May. The new special seems to be a 5 year fix at 4.39% £999 fee and Ltv 75%, not really looked at all the other rates but the 3.99 was not a bad deal. cheers

Mortgage Holiday and Property Incorrectly Listed
Hi all, I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong area - hopefully though someone out there will be able to point me in the right direction. Basically, we contacted the Nationwide to ask about the possibility of arranging a mortgage holiday for 6 months so that we can make our garden child-friendly. Currently it looks like…

Two mortgages query, and auction purchase
Dear all, Thanks for the wealth of info on here and I'm hoping you might be able to offer some good insights on our situation. The scenario is as follows. House 1 (our existing home) has a value of around £300k (allowing for recent market falls), and we have a very low mortgage remaining on it (sub £1000) on the Nationwide…

Porting Mortgage
Hello all, I have an Abbey Flex+ mortgage, with £147k outstanding. Abbey have told me I can port my mortgage across, although I understand if I buy a house worth £147k or more, I'll need to borrow against a new product (mortgage rate currently 0.49% above BOE BR - life tracker). I'm not intending to do this, however would…

Can I find a first mortgage of £20K? I am paying off loan to parents for property but need some updating. I need to keep mortgage payments as low as possible as I don't earn very much but would like the opportunity to pay off mortgage in lump sums as and when available. Is my only alternative an interest free mortgage?
