Will loan affect remortgage application
Hi I'm thinking of taking out a 20K secured loan to sort out my debts. What I want to know is if that will count against any equity in the property (outstanding mortgage 119K, value of property 132K)when we look for a new deal next year as the fixed rate will come to an end. Thanks Mike

What can I do
my point exactly. I have a property mortgaged, paid to a company that has no charge on it. If they haven't taken out a charge in 4 months why should they soon? yet the previous company who I'm not paying do. What if I paid off the mortgage, would that mean I still didn't own the house. Who do you complain to, I have…

Renting a house
Can I rent out my house without having a buy to let mortage? My big concern is renting the property out without consent from the lender. Do we have to pay tax on the retal income? Surely the tax man will tell the mortgage lender we are renting, what happens then? We have been told my several diffrent sources that a buy to…

Drive by valuations?
Hello I am in the process of remortgaging from Bristol and West to Halifax through a broke that I have used in the past. I went to see him yesterday to find out about the valuation. The broker said a drive by valuation has been done and when I asked for the valuation report he mentioned as the valuation and legal fees are…

Loan consolidation is it ethical on this site, providing links from profiles.
I have noted that some posters have links in their profiles to loan consolidation web-sites,I would request some feed-back on this practice. I realise that it is permitted ,but is it ethical ,because this site does have a stance on this matter, and Martin has run a feature involving a well known celebrity who promotes…

Buy to let or let to buy for holiday let?
Not seen your other posts and I'm not a broker but IMO, Step 1 You ask your current lender for consent to let on your current home. You then get a new mortgage on your new home. If you need to increase your current mortgage to release some equity to act as a deposit for your new home then you first ask your existing lender…

Would it be rude to?
I am meeting him face to face but not until next week and I just wanted to get some idea to start with. To be honest I think email is a great way to start as they can't just use lots of large words or technical terms that bamboozle you and make you come away feeling slightly dazed and overloaded with information, by email…

Which mortgage first?
The one with no redemption penalty. You may want to check this with your lender. After that, if there is no penalty, it doesn't matter. JoeK

CeMap Sample papers
I own a national CeMAP training school to help individuals to pass their Certificate in Mortgage Advisers & Practice (CeMAP) exams. We trained around 1,000 people last year. In my opinion, for the majority, the most effective way to learn is in a group, be focused and get away from the home and all the distractions. Have a…

Attention: mortgage Advisers!
Incomes are based on a number of factors such as employed, self employed, industry that the adviser works in, (estate agents, banks, mortgage brokerage etc.) but as well as this it will depend on how hard the adviser works, individual ability, desire, etc. plus how well they are trained. Experience and training is a major…

knackered house - problem for mortgage?
Your circumstances may be different to the neighbour. Generally, the lender may hold advancing some money back after the property has been valued. This retention will be released to you subject to you having the work completed satisfactorily and a further inspection will take place to verify that. It would seem that you a…
